Welcome to Look for the Red Hair: The Travel Tips My Friends Always Ask For

It all started with a pint (or three) of Magners in an Irish pub on a solo trip to Amsterdam, right before this crazy pandemic hit. The bartender was making fun of me for going to an Irish pub and not ordering Guinness. While tipsily browsing social media, I had the brilliant idea of creating a drunken travel blog. By “drunken,” I literally meant sharing all kinds of shenanigans and tips from various bars across the globe.

In hindsight, no one wants travel advice from a tipsy twenty-something at a pub in Amsterdam who won’t even order a Guinness. (And yes, I’ve since corrected that—I ordered Guinness in Dublin, thank you very much.) Fast forward five years, and I have a new vision: sharing my travel insights with you, this time mostly sober.

Why I Started This Blog
Travel isn’t just something I do when I can squeeze it in—it’s a way of life. I often hear people say, “Do it while you can,” but for me, it’s so much more than that. Whether I’m wandering through cobblestone streets in Europe, soaking up the sun on a breezy island, or hunting down the perfect slice of cake in a city café, every journey has its own rhythm. I love uncovering those moments of magic and sharing what I’ve discovered—partly so you don’t make the same mistakes I did!

When I’m not traveling, I’m either dreaming about it, planning for it, or answering questions about it. This blog is my way of saying, “Here are all the tips, tricks, and stories—so you don’t have to send me that 2 a.m. text when you need recommendations for your next trip.”

What You’ll Find Here
